INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE SCHOOL ON CONTROL (IGSC) PROGRAM

Since the creation of EECI, the IGSC Program has been organized every year, inviting the best experts to teach recognized topical subjects in esteemed universities and institutes worldwide.

The scientific aim of IGSC is to complete the training in the multidisciplinary field of systems & control, offering complementary and essential education for PhD students, Postdocs, young (or less young) researchers and engineers.

IGSC Program includes independent modules on different topics of networked and embedded control. A module of 21 hours a week, these modules are eligible for 2nd Year Master Degree credits and Scientific Thesis modules. Successful completion of a module upon evaluation obtains the equivalence of 3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) max.

The European Embedded Control Institute (EECI) was founded in 2006 in the framework of the HYCON Network of Excellence (FP6-IST-511368), an EC project funded from September 2004 to September 2008. EECI is a “lightweight” association (under the French Association Law 1901) based on volunteer work by its members. The EECI offers a legal structure for the Knowledge Community of Networked and Embedded Control.

The establishment of EECI is expected to become a long-term worldwide renowned focal point by stimulating new collaborative (multi-national and multi-disciplinary) research on networked and embedded control, breaking down the barriers between the traditional disciplines, to disseminate associated methods and tools, organising the education of students and researchers, and to transfer methodologies to industry. Its role as a perennial institution will also be a control platform by keeping tracking the results and products of funded past projects.
