Welcome to the Inauguration of KTH Center for Sports Engineering on 13 June!

Tuesday, June 13, the Center for Sports Engineering will be inaugurated at KTH Innovation, Teknikringen 1 in Stockholm. The mission of the center is to match all forms of sports with world-leading research at KTH in the engineering sciences. The aim is to improve training, design better equipment and infrastructures, increase participation, and facilitate sustainable and attractive events. 

Look forward to an exciting program that starts at 14:00 with opening remarks by Anders Söderholm – President of KTH, Anders Larsson – Vice President of the Swedish Olympic Committee and Peter Mattsson – National Sports Confederation Elite Sports 2030 followed by an overview of the center by Digital Futures faculty member Gunnar Karlsson, Professor and Head of Division, Division of Network and Systems Engineering at KTH.

Get inspired by research and innovation presentations covering revolutionary helmet technology, cooling and heating technology used in ice rinks, digital coaching, blue light and photocatalysis in swimming pools, digital math, data visualization in sports engineering and technology to decode, predict and enhance human movement. Sport ranges from elite activities on a global level in world championships and Olympic Games to exercise and wellbeing for all members of society. KTH is collaborating with both the Swedish Sports Confederation and the Swedish Olympic Committee around sports in research and education.
