Bio: Jose Israel Rodriguez is a mathematician whose research connects algebraic geometry, statistics, and machine learning. As an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he develops mathematical and computational tools for studying nonlinear polynomial systems that arise in artificial intelligence, optimization, and scientific discovery. His recent work focuses on algebraic approaches to neural networks, identifiability, and Gaussian mixture

Rodriguez is a Scholar in residence at Digital Futures hosted by Kathlén Kohn.
