A groundbreaking AI initiative is making a real-world impact in Latin America’s justice systems. Ivana Feldfeber, CEO and co-founder of Argentina-based DataGénero, presented the AymurAI tool during the Digital Futures FemTech and Feminist Tech focus period at KTH (May 12–June 13, 2025).
AymurAI is an AI-powered app that helps criminal courts better understand and respond to gender-based violence. It was developed in collaboration with Buenos Aires’ Criminal Court No. 10, using open justice data while ensuring no sensitive information leaves the court system or touches the internet.
Feldfeber emphasized the urgent need for structured data on violence against women and LGBTI communities, stating, “We found that there was no data on the violence and inequalities… This makes it difficult for authorities to take the right measures.”
Unlike traditional AI tools, AymurAI avoids large language models, instead focusing on user-driven design, local security, and practical impact. It is already in use in Argentina and Costa Rica, and could soon reach a broader Latin American network of prosecutors.
By closing data gaps and protecting privacy, AymurAI is helping shape better-informed policies and real change.
