About this workshop
This workshop builds on the momentum from our previous Digital Futures Seed Project, ‘Industry 4.0 and beyond,’ where we gained a clear understanding of the transitions to Industry 5.0 and identified key areas of research and industrial needs. We recognized the urgent need for closer cooperation between industry and academia to tackle current societal challenges.

It is a continuation of the DFs Seed Project, with a special focus on community building and the green transition. We aim to use this discussion to refine our industrial strategies further and pinpoint our research priorities.

Through a mix of presentations and collaborative sessions, we will:

We will continue the conversation, strengthen our research consortia, and shape actionable paths for our shared sustainable future.

Join us in this dialogue and help shape the direction of our Industry 5.0 research and initiatives!

This workshop is co-organized by Digital Futures Seed Project Industry 5.0 research towards a circular economy and community and the KTH Industrial Transformation Platform.

Digitalization is changing the way we live, work and interact with each other. With the advent of Industry 4.0, we witnessed the rapid development of digital technologies and the emergence of new business models. Now, with the concept of Industry 5.0, the focus has shifted to the human factor and how digital technologies can help us create more meaningful and sustainable industries.

The purpose of the workshop is to refine industrial needs/challenges from the previous projects and workshops. In this workshop, we aim to bring together academia and industry to explore the needs and the challenges of Industry 5.0. We will discuss current research directions and the challenges and opportunities of digitalization. We will also explore the possibilities of collaboration between academia and industry and how to work together to create a better future for all.

We welcome members and industrial partners of Digital Futures!
