Nicolai Spicher is an Associate Professor within the Department of Health Technology at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Prior to coming to DTU, he was a Junior Research Group Leader at the University Medical Center Göttingen and completed postdoctoral training at the Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics at TU Braunschweig and Hannover Medical School. He holds a Ph.D. degree from University Duisburg/Essen where he was a member of the Erwin L. Hahn Institute for Magnetic Resonance Imaging and has a background in computer science. His research focuses on developing signal processing and machine learning methods for medical time‑series with particular emphasis on applications in cardiology and neurology.
During his visit, Nicolai will closely collaborate with colleagues at the KTH Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems on already existing joint projects and new research directions. He will work with familiar collaborators, including Martin Jakobsson and Seraina Dual, and will also seek to expand his network in Stockholm and across Sweden.
