Edward Lee

SEC scholar 10 May – 10 June 2026

Edward Lee is an assistant professor, teaching stream at the University of Toronto.  I conduct research in programming language theory and compilers, with a focus on designing pragmatic type systems for supporting modern software engineering needs.

With my host, Philipp Haller, we plan to start a collaboration for designing languages and type systems that support heterogenous computation backends natively, so one can write software in one integrated source language with first class support for GPUs, TPUs, and CPUs.
