This workshop will cover topics related to upcoming challenges and opportunities in Last-mile Logistics. There will be presentations from researchers, including a presentation of the preliminary results of the Demonstrator Project Investigating Sidewalks’ Mobility and Improving it with Robots (ISMIR).
The ISMIR project aims to enhance sidewalk mobility and robot delivery operations by analyzing data from sidewalk robots. Through statistical analysis and machine learning, the project will evaluate robots’ path efficiency, interactions with various transport users, and factors like weather.
The research focuses on improving routing algorithms and identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) for sidewalk mobility. By studying sidewalk navigation challenges, the project seeks to advance city logistics and offer insights into pedestrian infrastructure. This interdisciplinary effort involves experts from KTH’s Architecture, Urban Planning, and Electrical Engineering departments.
