This instrument provides an incentive to Digital Futures faculty members to apply for European Research Council (ERC) grants in the following categories: Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants and Advanced Grants.
The purpose of this call is to support the professional growth and development of our faculty members and encourage them to develop competitive ERC grant proposals. By providing financial support we also contribute to the development of high-quality research that aligns with Digital Futures vision.
Who can apply?
Digital Futures faculty members affiliated with the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, and Stockholm University (SU) can apply for this funding.
What the call offers:
- The call offers 100,000 SEK to each applicant. Each Digital Futures faculty member can only apply once. Successful applicants in 2025 are not eligible to apply again.
- The funding will be transferred to an applicant’s project and cannot be paid as remuneration.
- Up to 7 applications from KTH faculty members and up to 5 applications from SU faculty members will be granted.
Eligibility
- Be a Digital Futures faculty member affiliated to KTH or SU.
- Has submitted a project proposal for an ECR grant call during 2026, in one of the following categories: Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants and Advanced Grants.
- The submitted project proposal should be aligned with Digital Futures Research Matrix.
Call period
This is a recurring call, with applications possible throughout the year until we have granted funding to 7 KTH faculty members and 5 SU faculty members.
Application process
The application should consist of the following:
- A copy of the applicant’s CV
- An abstract of the submitted ERC proposal
- A short description of how the project proposal is related to the digital futures research matrix and how the project addresses societal challenge through digital transformation ( max 1 page)
- Proof of submission of the project proposal to the ECR grant call for Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants or Advanced Grants.
