Julio earned his PhD in Urban Anthropology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2021. He previously held positions as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne (2020–2023) and as a research assistant at ETH Zurich (2014–2018), with fellowships at the Technical University of Munich (2017) and Mines ParisTech (2018).

During his visit at KTH Digital Futures, Julio will advance research on shifting modes of urban expertise. This work forms part of a co-edited volume (with Jenny Lindblad and Jonathan Metzger) examining how knowledge production in urban fields is evolving in response to changing political and socio-technological conditions.
