Abstract: In this talk, Professor Loutfi Nuaymi will present a summary of his research activity and perspectives on how to achieve sustainable wireless networks. The recent research presented is about energy-efficient cellular networks fed by the Smart Grid, renewable energy and batteries.
Proposals for wireless networks sustainability goals realization, with regard to new policies being put in place in many countries, will be discussed.
Bio: Loutfi Nuaymi, a Senior IEEE Member, received the Engineering Diploma degree in telecommunication from Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon in 1993. He got his PhD in Telecommunication from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), now Telecom Paris Tech, Paris, France in 2001.
He is Full Professor at IMT Atlantique (previous names: Telecom Bretagne and ENST Bretagne), Rennes, France. His fields of interest are radio resource management, energy efficiency and cellular coverage in wireless networks. He is the author of ‘WiMAX’, published by Wiley (January 2007) and many journals and conference papers.
