Futures studies is an area where a long-term perspective is used to bring long-term consequences into daily discussions. In this talk, I will give an introduction to futures studies, and discuss how they can be connected to digitalisation. I will present five images of the future, representing five different developments of digitalisation, produced in a project some years ago. The bottom line is to highlight the importance of the question – what’s the point of IT?
