Call for Seed Funding Proposals: Strengthening French – Swedish AI Collaboration 

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, through Digital Futures, invites researchers at KTH and French academic institutions to submit joint research proposals for seed funding in the field of Artificial Intelligence.  

Purpose

This seed funding call aims to foster collaborative AI research between KTH and French universities. By supporting joint projects with academic, industry, and/or societal partners, the program seeks to strengthen cross-border academic ties, promote interdisciplinary innovation and enable real-world impact through industry and public sector engagement.

Eligibility

Each proposal must include: 

  • One Digital Futures faculty member employed by KTH 
  • One faculty member from a French university 
  • One organization from the French or Swedish industry or the public sector 

Additional co-PIs may also be part of the application. The proposal must focus on collaboration across sectors with clear relevance to AI research and innovation.

Project duration and funding conditions

Up to four project proposals will be funded with a maximum of 500,000 SEK. The funding will be transferred to the KTH PIs according to the distribution specified in the budget. (Additional funding may be provided by French institutions). 

The project duration is one year, starting on January 1st 2026.

Send your application to call@digitalfutures.kth.se  and include “Seed funding French Swedish AI collaboration” in the subject of your email. The application must include: 

  1. A project proposal using the template below
  2. The PIs CV 
  3. A letter of intent provided by the organisation from the French or Swedish industry or the public sector
